And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not
Scripture : Psalm 12:1-8
There is a chorus that says, Be Bold, be strong, for the Lord thy God is with thee. Do not be afraid. Do not be ashame, for we are walking in faith and victorycome onwalk in faith and victory! For the Lord Thy God is With thee!
This chorus should encourage and uplift us. It helps remind us that we have nothing to fear when witnessing, fear is false evidence that appear to be real. God is on our side!
Unfortunately, fear is one of the greatest excuses we have to justify not sharing our faith with others:
we fear ridicule and scorn.
we fear change or the unknown.
we fear failure or the commitment we will have to make people if we have success.
We fear having to be disciplined and prepared for the process and for the outcome.
There is a childrens fable that tells of a mouse that was in constant fear of a cat. to save it from its fear, a wise man turned it into a cat. As a cat, it was afraid of a dog. The wise man turned it into a dog. then it began to fear a lion. The wise man turned it into a lion. As a lion, it feared the hunter. Sadly, the wise man then turn it back into a mousefor although its outward appearance became more lofty, within it still only had the courage and strength of a mouse.
What am I saying?.We must learn the lesson from the mouse and grasp the strength the Holy Spirit has to offer us, and put off the insignificant fear of the world.
